Rango - 2011
This drawing is both detailed and large for a character drawing. According to the artist, Eugene Yelchin, he and director Gore Verbinski spent a weekend at his house drawing characters and Western sets, which in turn led to the feel and the story of the film. Rango won the Academy Award in 2011 for Best Animated Feature. Yelchin is an award winning children's book illustrator and has been awarded both the Golden Kite Award as well as the prestigious John Newberry Medal. The text to the lower left reads "Banker (ground squirrel)". The art measures 14" x 17".

There is some handling and slight tearing in the perforated upper edge of the paper, which could be easily matted out. There is evidence of some slight handling throughout, with some slight graphite smudging throughout.
  • Signed by: Eugene Yelchin
