There are two pieces included here and each piece measures 12-Field (11" x 13")
A heron flies against a majestic night sky in this jaw-dropping original background concept painting created for the "Clair de Lune" segment of 1940's Fantasia, ultimately cut from the film. This piece is complete with two hand-painted production test cels featuring wispy cloud effects and a lone heron. Shortly after the release of Fantasia, the inking, painting, and photography were completed for "Clair de Lune" as a short subject 1942, but it was not released. In 1946, it was edited, reshaped, and re-scored as the popular music sequence "Blue Bayou" in Make Mine Music.
This 12 field 5-peghole setup includes a black paper frame overlay stapled to the top edge of the piece. Minor handling with Cels. An extremely unique find, and the nitrate cels are in impressive condition despite their age. The background includes the production stamp "BG Dept. Color Sketch" and the number 291.
Comes with Wonderful World of Animation Gallery Certificate of Authenticity, which acts as a Lifetime Guarantee.
