Rango 2011
This drawing is both detailed and large for a character drawing. According to the artist, Eugene Yelchin, he and director Gore Verbinski spent a weekend at his house drawing characters and Western sets, which in turn led to the feel and the story of the film. They decided that the town and the buildings in it would be made of found items that would be appropriately sized for small desert animals. Yelchin is an award winning children's book illustrator and has been awarded both the Golden Kite Award as well as the prestigious John Newberry Medal. Rango won the Academy Award in 2011 for Best Animated Feature. The art measures 14" x 17".

As visible in the image, there is evidence that the artwork was removed from a spiral bound sketchbook.
