You can almost hear the six Yosemite Sam's in this model sheet, "I'm the hootinst, tootinist, shootinist bobtail wildcat in the west!"
As is visible in the web image, there is paper loss to the upper right corner with clear tape and a 1.75" x 0.5" area of paper loss located halfway down the left edge. There's a minor crease of 1.25" across the lower left corner. There is a tear of 0.75" by the lower right peg hole. There is some surface paper loss; a 1.0" x 1.0" area along the upper edge located 4.25" to the right of the upper left corner, an area 1.5" x 0.25" along the upper left edge by the upper left corner and an area 0.5" x 0.5" at the lower left corner. The lower characters and upper left and right characters are trimmed from separate pages. This piece exhibits light handling which is common for studio production material.

Production cel of Looney Tunes Characters
This is an amazing giant production cel from the title sequence of "The Bugs Bunny Show" (c. 1960s). This cel is resting on a painted presentation background. The background measures 10.5" x 30" and the cel measures 41" x 10.5". There are two vertical folds in the cel with tears in these folds; a fold of 7.5" to the right of the left edge with 3 tears of 0.25"- 2.0" and a fold of 6.5" to the left of the right edge with 2 tears of 0.25" and 0.5". Tape has been placed on the corners and left and right edges. These can all be easily matted out. There is evidence of 4 pin holes along the upper edge of the cel and pin holes by the upper corners which can be easily matted out. As pinning up work for evaluation was often part of the creative process, this is fairly common for this type of work. There is slight line wear throughout the characters with varying degrees of paint separation in each. In Tweety there is slight paint separation in the eyes and a 0.25" x 0.25" area of paint loss in his left foot. Speedy Gonzales has paint loss of 0.4" x 0.25" in the right leg and lower torso with very slight lifting and there are specks of dark smudging in the white paint with slight mottling in the ears. Hippety Hopper has minor paint cracking with no paint loss in the torso and legs and minor line wear in the ears. There is very slight cracking in the paint of Yosemite Sam's hat and beard and very slight lifting in the left wrist and foot. There is slight lifting in Sylvester's face and right leg. There is a 0.4" x 0.25" area of paint separation but no paint loss between Elmer Fudd's eyes and slight mottling in the blue of his hat. There is lifting in the body and tail of Pepé Le Pew with speck of paint loss in his back. Paint separation has occurred in Road Runner with 2 areas of paint loss; 0.125" x 0.125" in the base of the tail and 0.5" x 0.25" in the chest and there is slight line wear in the feet and eyes. There is very slight lifting throughout Wile E Coyote and slight cracking in the right foot. There is minor separation in Foghorn Leghorn's face, hand and left ankle with paint loss of 0.125" x 0.25" in his right cheek and slight lifting in the tail.
The size of this piece is Pan and the character size is 5.5" h x 22.5" w.

After enchanting the brooms to help with his chores, Mickey Mouse cautiously approaches to inspect his handy work.

Mickey appears at 32:03 while the Broom appears just before at 32:00.
Slight glue residue can be seen by the broom as the cel has separated slightly from the background. There is slight mottling in the paint in the broom and Mickey's hat. Only noticeable upon close examination are very slight specks of line wear throughout. There are some fine particles trapped between the cel and the glass.

As is visible in the web image, this piece has slight toning and light foxing throughout with darker discolorations along the upper, left, and right edges. Within the margin, there is evidence of multiple pin holes halfway across the upper edge, by the upper corners and along the lower edge. There are some slight folds throughout; evidence of handling which is common for studio production material. As visible in the web image, the piece exhibits more than normal handling along the right edge with minor folds and tears which can be easily matted out. In desperation Geppetto sets out to cross the rough sea to find his lost son. The roiling water in this gorgeous concept reflects Geppetto's anxiety about Pinocchio's abduction.
This piece measures 8.6" x 11" with the artwork area measuring 8" x 10.5".
As is visible in the web image, this piece has toning throughout with some slight foxing in the lower and right margins. Tones in the digital pictures are slightly harsher compared to how they appear in real life. There is evidence of three pin holes at the upper left corner within the margin which can be easily matted out. Not very noticeable are additional pin holes along the artwork edges; one at the lower left corner, one halfway across the top and lower margins, and two by the lower right corner. As pinning up work for evaluation was often part of the creative process, this is fairly common for this type of work. There is a miniscule tear and small puncture of 0.125" x 0.125" halfway down the right edge which can be easily matted out. There is a minor fold of 0.5" across the lower left corner which can be easily matted out.

Yet another peril of Pleasure Island! In this story sketch from Pinocchio a giant razor toothed shark attacks Pinocchio's donkey tail!
This piece measures 7.4" x 9.4" with the artwork area measuring 6" x 8".
As is visible in the web image, this piece has toning along the margins where a clear, thin, protective sheet of plastic has been placed over the drawing and taped down. There is foxing throughout the back of the piece. Nearly indiscernible without very close examination is a pin hole halfway across the upper edge of the artwork and a pin hole in the artwork located 1.25" to the left of Pinocchio's bottom. As pinning up storyboards for evaluation was often part of the creative process, this is fairly common for this type of work.

The Evil Queen starts her incantation with these words, "Mummy dust, to make me old. To shroud my clothes, the black of night. " After a few more steps she will transform herself into the peddler hag and travel to the Dwarfs' cottage to poison Snow White!
The production cel of the Evil Queen has been trimmed around the character measuring 9.5" x 9" and is displayed with a presentation background and presentation cel overlay. This piece measures 13" x 15". The cel appears in the film at 50:03.
There is minor paint mottling in purple of the clothing. Cel has become slightly wavy which is fairly common for vintage animation cels. There are two minor spots of paint loss by the character's fingers in the white paint of the test tube.

The cel is taped along the right edge to the background painted on art board. There is evidence of staple holes to the cel and background at each corner and halfway down the left and right edges. There is a very faint brown, 1.25" horizontal line across the face of Copper below the cheek though nearly indiscernible. There is small 0.25" area of very slight paint bleed in bottom edge Tod's tail.

In 1994, animation historian Jerry Beck surveyed 1000 people working in the animation industry and published the results in The 50 Greatest Cartoons: As Selected by 1,000 Animation Professionals, in which The Tell-Tale Heart ranked #24
This striking master set up comes from the controversial 1953 short, Tell Tale Heart. This was the first cartoon to be rated X, indicating it was suitable only for adult audiences, by the British Board of Film Censors.
The aperture measures 7.75" x 10.5" while the matte measures 14" x 17".
The artwork appears at 5:41.
As somewhat visible in the web image, there is a pin hole through the cel and background above the character's right hand. Matte exhibits wear along the edges.

2. For all art, be the first to call in to the gallery at 310-836-4992 at 11:00 a.m. (PST) on Thurs December 4th, 2014 to place your order.

3. Can't call in? Email or place your online pre-order with us by Weds December 3rd, 2014 by 5:00 p.m. and we'll put your order in at 11:15 a.m. the next morning--that is after the telephone orders have been processed.
