It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
(1966)
Master set-up of Linus and Snoopy Linus wistfully writes his holiday letter to the mythic Great Pumpkin. Even the derision of his closest friends (and their dog) can’t dissuade him from sending his wishes to the Great Gift Giving Pumpkin. This is a fantastic master set-up from one of the world’s most beloved holiday specials! Linus appears at 5:12 and Snoopy appears shortly after at 5:26. The writing does not match up exactly with what is in the film, though it is on a cel with production numbers in the lower right corner. Therefore, in our best estimation, the cel with the writing was an earlier piece that was later replaced by the final version. The background shows evidence of wear and paper loss along the extreme upper edge as well as along each corner. There are staple holes in the cels and background toward the bottom two corners, all of which can easily be matted out. There is paper loss along the center peg hole of the background, as well as a tear in the background which measures 2.75" and extends from the right side toward the center edge towards the left horizontally. A slight amount of paint has transferred from Snoopy's ears to the background. The size of this piece is 12 Field (11"x13") and the character size is 2" h x 4" w. US$ 3400 (unframed). Add this piece to your collection for only US$680 a month. PNMCS1 |

Production cel of Snoopy The flying ace as lit up by the bright moon. This cel appears at 15:36 in the film, where he has just been shot down and abandons his flying craft. This is a very iconic scene from the film which shows the drama and dreams of the beagle fighter pilot on Halloween. There is evidence of staple holes towards the extremes of the lower left and right hand corners which can be easily matted out. There is also evidence of folding just to the right of the far left peg hole which measures 1.75" and can easily be matted out as well. The size of this piece is 12 Field (11"x13") and the character size is 2.5" h x 1.75" w. US$ 2200 (unframed). PNCJW112 |
