Horton Edition Size: 913 Giclee on paper of Horton This image was created by Chuck Jones using gouache on 12 field animation paper. They date from approx. 1967 when he was beginning to explore the possibility of producing and directing Dr. Seuss’ “Horton Hears a Who!” The Horton and Mrs. Toucanella Said... study of a bird images exhibit Chuck Jones’ innate facility with many media; in this case the opacity of gouache serves his purpose beautifully. Rendered in subtle tones, each character displays their personality in the quick application of paint and line—hallmarks of the Jones sensibility, genius and his adept handling of a brush. Although Jones throughout his career, contributed hundreds of layout drawings and model studies to each of his productions, these paintings are a departure for him—and offer a rare glimpse inside his continuing evolution as one of the world’s greatest animation directors and artists. The limited edition fine art reproductions created from these original, rare paintings will be a valued part of any Chuck Jones collection. Purchase this with the "Mrs. Toucanella" giclee (CJGMT) for $400! Signed by: Chuck Jones (estate signed) The size of this piece is 12 Field (11"x13") US$ 225 (unframed). CJGH |
