Brave Little Tailor
Mickey Mouse animation Production Drawing
  Brave Little Tailor (1938)
Production drawing of Mickey Mouse
Our hero encounters a moment of doubt before the situation becomes so real he is forced to prevail. Wonderful hand gesture that matches his questioning eyes as he tries to talk himself through what he has to accomplish.
This item exhibits some light wear consistent with age and regular handling. There is evidence of a very slight fold extending from the right hand side of the drawing toward the area of his knees, and is only visible upon close examination.
The size of this piece is 12 Field (11"x13") and the size of the image is 3.75" h x 3.75" w.

Mickey Mouse animation Production Drawing
Available on Layaway Disney Studios (c. 1930s)
Production drawing of Mickey Mouse
Truly the world’s first animated superstar, Mickey Mouse paved the way for all the animated greats we know today and those that are still to come. Mickey starred in well over 120 films and this wonderful production drawing comes from the early days of his storied career. From a 1930’s short, this drawing shows a full bodied Mickey playing music upon some bottles. Sporting his signature gloves, buttoned shorts, and oversized shoes this Mickey of yesteryear looks much like he does today. Perhaps that is proof that the young at heart never grow old.

Donald's Penguin
Tootsie animation Production Drawing
  Donald's Penguin (1939)
Production drawing of Tootsie
This pencil rough piece depicts Donald Duck's adorable penguin antagonist attempting a running jump on the windowsill to reach Donald's prized pet fish! This can be seen roughly 3 minutes and 22 seconds into the short (after the first time Tootsie sees Donald's three fish). Note that in this rough, the details of the short feathers on the top of its head have not been fleshed out yet! The number "29" can be seen on the lower right hand corner. There is some slight darkening of the edges due to the age of the piece; this can be matted out for display.

Donald Duck animation Production Drawing
  Donald's Penguin (1939)
Production drawing of Donald Duck
We believe that this scene was a preliminary rough where Donald opens the package from "Admiral Bird from the South Pole"; the piece of paper Donald is holding is the note that came with the package and he is in the same posture when he was opening the package with Tootsie inside the box. The number 4 can be seen in the lower right hand corner.
The pencil is a little lighter than usual, so we had to up the contrast on the jpg image to show you the detail. The paper colour is consistent and does not show the gradations that "appear" in the digital image. There is a slight darkening of the edges due to age and there is a fold on the lower right hand corner. These can be matted out for display if so desired.
