Disneyland cel set-up of Briar Rose and the Owl from Sleeping Beauty WOW! We were so excited when we saw this piece come in. This is one of the best Briar Rose cels that we've ever seen from one of the most famous, if not the most beloved scenes in the film. The "Once Upon a Dream" segment is quite sought after by the most prestigious of Sleeping Beauty collectors. This scene opens with the fairies trying their best to prepare for the girls 16th birthday. They want a "real birthday party" and a "real birthday cake". Meanwhile Briar is out for a walk and speaking to her forest friends about her dream of meeting a handsome stranger. She is convinced that she will meet him in person one day and marry him. While this is going on the prince hears her song and falls off of his horse into a stream. Shortly after he hangs his clothes on the tree to dry out, the forest animals find them and quickly use the cloak and boots to provide Briar with a dreamy dancing partner. Briar’s expression in this cel is absolutely priceless and there is no doubt that she is singing a beautiful love song. With her mouth slightly open and her eyes a little closed, dancing with her owl Prince, we, just like the price can hear her lovely song. The piece does come in its original Disney Land Cel Set-Up matting with accompanying golden Disney seal on the back. The art opening is 10" x 8". The size of this piece is 12 Field (11"x13") and the character size is 7" h x 5" w. (unframed). WDCCSH4 |
