"Robin Hood" was Disney studios first animated feature produced after the passing of the great Walt Disney. For this reason, the film was considered a test for the studios animation department. A test they passed with flying colors as the film garnered the biggest box office total of all the Disney films at the time. From this master set-up of Maid Marian dancing in the forest it is easy to see why the film was such a success. The background has all the beautiful, intricate detail work that Disney is famous for, and the character seem to jump off the cel in a whimsical, joyous manner. There is some tape on the edges of the cel--easily matted out and there is one tear in each upper corner of the cel with the pig on it and a corner missing on the overlay cel with the bush on it- which are held in tact with tape-- easily matted out

The cel was laminated by the studio which was a fairly common practice for cels from this film and time period. The cels show slight signs of cloudiness, predominantly the cel of Friar Tuck.

The cel was laminated by the studio which was a fairly common practice for cels from this film and time period. As sometimes occurred, there is evidence of creasing in the lamination. There are three on the cel of the Sheriff while the cel of Allan has one which extends from the area of the neck. The cels are stapled in the extreme upper left corner and there is evidence of tape along some of the extreme outer edges, which can easily be matted out..

The prince is shown here in a very humorous pose, with hand out and his jaw and eyes clamped tight in a moment of surprise.
This piece shows evidence of slight line wear. Very slight paint separation with no lifting, most notably in the area of the top of his crown and a small area in his pointer finger, which are only visible upon close inspection. This piece is in excellent condition for a cel of its age.
