The cels have been laminated by the studio which was a fairly common practice for cels from this film and time period. There are pinpoint impressions and specks throughout the piece that appear to have occurred in the lamination process. The cels are stapled together at the top in the extreme corners which can be easily matted out. As visible in the image, there is a black smudge between the character's raised finger and the bottle.

Basil was a notoriously bad violin player but this persistent rodent never gave up, a quality which served him well in the film.
