Master set-up of Bambi
Young Bambi confusedly stares up at the birds that are acting quite strangely. Little does Bambi know that these birds are “twitterpated” and soon enough he too will become ensconced in a young spring romance.
The artwork measures approximately 11" x 11".
The background appears at 31:39 in the film at the end of the Meadow scene. We believe that the background was originally Pan and had overlay effect cels as it pans to this point where the part appears in the film.
As is slightly visible in the image, there is a very faint line around the background image where a previous matte may have been--the second image shows where this line is.
As visible in the image, there is evidence of paint separation in Bambi's legs and some paint loss in his ear. As the character is trimmed and applied to the background, we do not recommend restoration. There is evidence of paint mottling in the two birds.

Courvoisier cel of Bambi and a frog
The son of the Great Prince of the forest gets closely acquainted with the meadows for the first time; a frog splashes away from him as he approaches the pond!
The entire piece with the default framing measures 18"H by 15"W.
Framing was done prior to its arrival at WWA thus the list price is reflective of the art only--the piece comes with the frame pictured. There is no change in price due to the frame--it can be de-framed upon request at purchase but will not change the price of the piece.
The frame is the original Courvoisier frame and matte, but the piece was removed from the frame for restoration.
Original Courvoisier seal on the back of the frame as well.
The paint has been professionally restored. The cel set up has been laminated as were many Courvoisier cels of this time period. Because of the lamination and restoration of the work, some separation of the layers of laminate has occurred around the edges of the figures.

The beautiful Faline is shown her as a young doe, before Bambi becomes twitterpated with her. The entire framed piece measures 13.5" by 12.5." Price is reflective of art only--the piece comes with the frame pictured. There is paint separation in her eyes, some in her chest and deer spots. Two butterflies have fallen from their original placement and can easily be restored along with Faline

Here is an adorable character piece of Bambi's young love as she slightly struggles to right herself while most likely flirting with an unsuspecting young Bambi.
The image measures 5.5" x 4.5" while the frame measures 9.25" x 8".

Cel has become slightly wavy which is fairly common for vintage animation cels. The light reflection is visible in the web image only and is not on the actual piece. As seen in the image, some paint separation has occurred.

Courvoisier cel of Bambi and Thumper
This is one of the most endearing and sweetest examples from this film that we have seen in some time. These two woodland animals became fast and great friends in this classic and timeless story which was adapted by Disney. In this scene we have Thumper with an outstanding pose and expression on his face. The body language between the two is warm, friendly and timeless.
This piece comes from a private collection and was given to John Day Bricker, who was the son of John W. Bricker, who was a US Senator from Ohio, as well as a Vice Presidential candidate and good friends with Walt Disney, so in addition to being an incredible piece of artwork, it is also a nice bit of US History.
There is some glue residue from the cel which can be seen as the cel has separated slightly from the background. Still in great condition for a vintage cel and we do not recommend restoration unless to move the cel back into position.
There are a few small areas of paint separation. They are only really visible upon close examination, along Thumper's lower body and face.

Production cel of Thumper
This is a very nicely sized character as he is so small generally. His ears are characteristically askew, his eye is beautifully open as is his mouth, and his paws are wonderfully posed.
The size of the art board is 10" x 10".
The cel has been trimmed to character and applied to the backing board.
Very slight paint separation with no lifting and in excellent condition for vintage cels of its age.
There is some glue residue from the cel which can be seen as the cel has separated slightly from the background.
As is visible in the image, there is evidence of glue residue around the extreme edges, which can easily be matted out.
The character size is 3.25" h x 2.5" w.
