Photograph of Walt Disney.
This photograph is dedicated to Kay Kamen, the man who made Disney and Mickey Mouse licensed merchandise what it is today. Without Kamen, there would never have been Mickey Mouse watches, dolls, dishes, and the like, and this extreme business savvy made production of the golden age of the animated features possible because of the money it generated.
Kay Kamenís friendship with Roy and Walt was unique, and his business relationship with them made them millionaires, and some speculate that it generated more money for the company than the films did. He is the pioneer of character licensing, and his work was (and in many ways still is) the model for cartoon merchandising.
Kay Kamen is a Major Disney figure (some say a Disney legend) and probably one of the most important and influential people in branding who ever drew breath in the 20th century, and this very personal, important bit of ephemera that documents the link between Kamen and Disney is a unique find.
What a fantastic piece for any Disney collection! This large photo of Walt Disney is signed and dedicated in large exuberant script. It is easy to tell from his handwriting that Disney was truly larger than life.
It is extremely rare to find such a clean original Disney autograph on such an interesting medium. This is a must have piece of memorabilia for any major Disney collector.
