Master background This piece measures 11" x 31". This beautiful panoramic master background depicts the cobblestone lined streets of the quaint Italian town of Pinocchio’s happier days. Key master set-up of Bianca and Bernard This Key Master set up of Bernard, Bianca, Madame Medusa, Mr. Snoops, Nero and Brutus is truly remarkable. This setup can be seen at 44:49 in the film and is comprised of 5 original production cels and master background. Medusa reclines on the tatty couch as she prepares to pounce on Mr. Snoops for letting Penny escape. Bernard and Bianca look on from the shadows of low table. Every character in this set-up is caught displaying the personality that they portray throughout the film. The crocodiles patiently wait to do their master’s biding, Medusa lazily sneers, Mr. Snoops cringes at Medusa’s scolding, and the story’s heroes bravely watch as they hear Medusa’s plan for the first time. This is a must have for any die hard The Rescuers fan. The cels are stapled to the background with three staples along the extreme lower edge. Master set-up of Penny This beautiful master set-up comes from one of the most carefully designed scenes in Disney’s history. The producers of Disney’s 1977 hit film, “The Rescuers,” took special care to make sure that every shot in this scene served to build tension. They were successful, and this pivotal scene in which Penny dislodges The Devil’s Eye from a pirate’s skull is still one of the tensest moments in animation history. Penny’s face is filled with apprehension as she attempts to lift the dripping sword. The animators did an amazing job portraying the underlying frailty of this unbelievably brave little girl. Production cel and production background of Mickey Mouse The cel is from Traffic Troubles, while the background is from the Walt Disney film "Duck Hunt" from 1932. This is an incredibly rare example of the early Disney animation. In Traffic Troubles Mickey not so successfully tries his hand at driving a taxi. In this cel set-up we see Mickey and his dilapidated car trying to navigate the road. It is clear from this piece that the animators were not afraid of using a site gag or two to tantalize the audience. The tires are inexpertly patched, the taxi seems to be yelling “Oh No!”, and the bulge that drags the back of the cab is from the considerable weight of his passenger, Percy Pig. This cel has been paired with a delicate landscape master background from another classic short The Duck Hunt. A lovely pastoral scene sits on the horizon while happy flowers dance in the foreground.
