The Rescuers (1977)
Master set-up of Penny.

This beautiful master set-up comes from one of the most carefully designed scenes in Disney’s history. The producers of Disney’s 1977 hit film, “The Rescuers,” took special care to make sure that every shot in this scene served to build tension. They were successful, and this pivotal scene in which Penny dislodges The Devil’s Eye from a pirate’s skull is still one of the tensest moments in animation history. Penny’s face is filled with apprehension as she attempts to lift the dripping sword. The animators did an amazing job portraying the underlying frailty of this unbelievably brave little girl.
There is a corner cut out from the background approx 1" x 4" and is at the very edge of the background well away from th epainted area.
