Fantasia (1940) Production drawing of A Centaurette. This drawing is of Melinda, one of the Centaurettes from Disney’s Fantasia. Originally Melinda is a down trodden soul without a companion, but then the cupids intervene and introduce her to Brudus, a centaur who is a kindred spirit, and the two fall in love. This drawing is from a scene in which Melinda is coyly flirting with Brudus, looking up to him with big doe eyes. The drawing was originally sketched in red, then drawn over in pencil, and there is also a bit of green at the bottom denoting shadow placement.
