The Jungle Book (1967) Production cel of King Louie and Baloo. This fantastic cel set-up comes from the scene where King Louie and his band of monkeys sing “I Wan’na Be Like You.” In attempt to rescue Mowgli from King Louie, Baloo and Bagheera sneak into the party where Baloo dons his monkey disguise and joins the dance to distract King Louie while Bagheera tries to steal the man cub. In this cel both King Louie and Baloo are full figures. Louie’s face is wide and expressive as he sing about attaining “the power of man’s red flower.” The cel has been trimmed to figure and reapplied to a new piece of acetate.
The two characters as well as the seal have been trimmed and applied to a new cel..
