Melody Time (1948)|
Production cel of Slue-foot Sue.
Slue-Foot Sue enters the story of Pecos Bill astride a mammoth catfish. Ever reminiscent of Varga’s Pin-up girls that had become so popular with the men of 1940’s, Sue is drawn with full pouty lips and long fluttering lashes. It is no wonder she was the favorite love of Pecos Bill.
The cel is slightly wavy which is fairly common for animation cels of this age. There are evidence of pin holes; two at the upper left corner and one 1.5" below, one along the lower edge and 1.5" to the right of the lower left corner and one at the lower right corner. As visible in the web image, paint separation has occurred on the character's left hand, skirt, and boot and there is slight lifting throughout. There is a 0.25" x 0.25" area of paint separation on the fish’s lip.
The size of this piece is 16 Field (13"x16") and the size of the image is 7" h x 10.5" w.
