Brave Little Tailor (1938) Courvoisier cel of Mickey Mouse. Mickey holds his hat in hand as he explains to the King how he killed seven flies with one blow. The King however, due to courtly gossip, thinks that the Brave Little Tailor has killed seven giants with one blow and decrees that Mickey is the Royal Giant Killer!
This beautiful Courvoisier cel is an excellent example of a pre-Fantasia Mickey Mouse. This is evident in the fact that Mickey’s eyes are solid black rather than white with black pupils as he appeared from Fantasia forward. The goal of the redesign was to give Mickey a more expressive face; however, this cel does an excellent job showing Mickey’s nervous emotions. The artwork measures 7" x 6.5" while the frame measures 17.5" x 16.5". There is a slight amount of paint mottling in the character, visible only upon close examination..
