Sleeping Beauty (1959)|
Disneyland cel set-up of Briar Rose, an owl and a rabbit.
Briar Rose greets the soon to be Owl Prince as she wanders the fairy’s forest wondering if she’ll ever find true love.
This piece comes in the original matte with Disneyland Art Corner seal in the back. The aperture measures 8" x 10" while the matte measures 12" x 14".
As visible in the web image, the matte exhibits marked toning, liquid stains and wear. Cel has become slightly wavy which is fairly common for vintage animation cels. There is evidence of paint cracking with light lifting; 0.5" in the characters head, 1.5" in the shawl by the character’s right arm, a 0.25" x 0.25" area in the shawl by the left arm, and 0.25" in the owl's left eye. As visible in the web image, there is paint separation with some small paint loss along the bottom edges of Briar Rose's shawl. Specks of paint from the highlights in Briar Rose’s hair have smudged and adhered to the top cel. There are small areas of cloudiness throughout.
The size of the image is 6.25" h x 7.25" w.
