Ferdinand the Bull (1938)|
Key master set-up of Some Men.
Shrouded in leaves of the recently destroyed tree, the five men in funny hats who were in charge of finding the biggest fastest toughest bull to fight in the bull fight shout” Whoopee“ after seeing Ferdinand’s fierce display.
The aperture measures 6.5" x 6.75" while the matte measures 13" x 11".
Leaves are painted on a cel which functions as the background.
Cel has become slightly wavy which is fairly common for vintage animation cels. The light reflection is only visible in the web image only and is not on the actual piece. Varying degrees of paint separation has occurred on each of the characters. There is some paint loss in the upper left character; 0.25" x 0.5" in the leaves and 0.125" x 0.125" in the right sleeve. There is some paint loss in the upper right character; 0.125" x 0.25" in the left sleeve and two spots approximately 0.25" x 0.25" in the lower right leaves. As seen in the image, there is some paint loss in the lower right character’s hat of 0.125" x 0.125" and 0.125" x0.5". There is paint cracking throughout the background cel and there are some areas of paint loss below and to the left of the upper right character.
