Courvoisier cel of Mlle. Upanova.
Fantasia is full of memorable moments but none were quite as outlandishly humorous as the ballet section set against Ponchielliís Dance of the Hours. It all begins with Mlle. Upanova, the prima donna ostrich who serves as the subject of this beautiful Courvoisier Cel. Mlle, with her less than elegant proportions, was used as an irreverent, yet affectionate, parody of the pretensions of classical ballet. Here she is seen up on her toes, wings out, dancing with all the grace and beauty that only an ostrich could possess. The absurdity of it is sure to bring a smile to the face of anyone who looks upon this piece. The size of the visible artwork measures 7.75" x 5" while the frame measures 12.5" x 9.5".
Very slight paint separation with no lifting and in excellent condition for vintage cels of its age.
Framing was done prior to its arrival at WWA thus the list price is reflective of the art only--the piece comes with the frame pictured. There is no change in price due to the frame--it can be de-framed upon request at purchase but will not change the price of the piece.
The size of the image is 7.25" h x 3.5" w.
