The Ugly Duckling (1939)|
Courvoisier cel of Baby Swans.
The framed piece measures 15.0" x 17.0" with the aperture measuring 8.25" x 11.0".
The grasshopper does not appear in the film.
Cel has become slightly wavy which is fairly common for vintage animation cels. The light reflection is only visible in the web image only and is not on the actual piece. There is evidence of paint cracking 0.25" long by the grasshoppers head but no paint loss. There is evidence of very slight paint separation on the buttocks and an area of 0.25" x 0.13" above the eye of the duckling on the far right but no paint loss. Visible upon close examination is very minor paint cracking on the neck of the ducklings on the far right and second from the right. There is an area 0.25" x 0.13" of paint loss to the tail and line wear with a miniscule dark smudge in the eye of the duckling second from the right. There is evidence of slight lifting throughout.
