Peter Pan (1953) Concept piece of Tinkerbell. What a fantastic concept of our favorite pixie, Tinkerbell. It’s truly amazing to see how the development of Tink’s character progresses from the point of Blair’s inspiration to the moment that she was personalized by Marc Davis during the animation process. Blair's rendition of Tink looks quite weighty in the limbs; while Marc's version of the pixie retained the curves, they were in all the right places and brought to life a gorgeous full figured fairy. Tink's personality truly shines through in this piece via her ever present facial expressions. From her high arched brow to the fleeting sideways glance and upturned lips, we can really see the spark of her mischievous and playful character. Beautiful shades of green, pink and gold gauche complete the piece.
The artwork measures 9.25" x 7.5".
There is evidence of pin holes towards the extremes of each corner, which can be easily matted out.
As pinning up artwork for evaluation was often part of the creative process, this is fairly common for this type of work..
The size of the image is 6.5" h x 5" w. US$ 9500 (unframed) WDAPP17
