Dumbo (1941) Concept piece of Dumbo and a bird. Before Timothy was a mouse he was originally intended to be a bird, as can be seen in this amazing concept piece from "Dumbo." There is an emotional element to this drawing as Dumbo has a small tear in his left eye. Timothy was eventually turned into a mouse in order to play on the stereotypical animosity between mice and elephants.
