Song of the South (1946)|
Storyboard of Brer Rabbit.
Uncle Remus narrates the Tar Baby tale and describes Brer Rabbit scratching his ear with his hind foot. He is flummoxed in this storyboard from the Tar Baby scene of Song of the South. The inanimate Tar Baby has just disrespected him by not saying helloŚnow Brer Rabbit must teach him a lesson!
The storyboard measures 6" x 8.5" and is affixed to black paper in both the front and back of the drawing.
The aperture measures 4" x 5".
The storyboard is stapled in each corner to the front paper. There are pin holes in the black paper toward the corners, which is quite common for this type of artwork. The drawing extends behind the 'matte' of the front black paper, as the actual drawing measures 6" x 8.5" and the aperture measures 4" x 5.25".
