Alice in Wonderland (1951)|
Concept piece of Alice and Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
This one of the only concept pieces of the twins we can ever recall seeing!
At a sheltered crossroads in Tulgey Wood, Alice encounters Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. The misfit twins first teach Alice a lesson in logic, then a lesson in manners, and finally they sing the tale of The Walrus and the Carpenter!
The illustration board measures 9" x 20" while the actual artwork image measures 8.0" x 19".
There is evidence of a pin hole within the white margins at each corner which can be easily matted out. As pinning up storyboards for evaluation was often part of the creative process, this is fairly common for this type of work. There is evidence of black paint along the left and right extreme edges which can be easily matted out. There is some discoloration and scruff marks to the paper within the white margin which can all be easily matted out.
The size of this piece is 12 Field (11"x13")
