Claws for Alarm (1954) Master background of Sylvester The Cat. The cel is a re-created, hand painted cel, which is key to the scene. It was painted by Darrel Van Citters, director of "Pullet Surprise" (1997), the last Looney Tunes short released by Chuck Jones productions. In this short, Maurice Noble designed the background layouts and Philip DeGuard painted the backgrounds. In the short, Porky and his pet cat, Sylvester, check in to a deserted hotel full of killer mice, which Porky refuses to believe until it's almost too late! There is a slight amount of faint smudging on the surface of the background where the character once was, which is visible only upon close examination..
