The great couch gag is from the opening credits of the second episode of season 13, The Parent Rap. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on November 11, 2001. The Simpson family stands on simply drawn sailboat and jumps together into the water only to safely land on the couch in their living room, revealing that they were actually standing on the deck of the boat painting that hangs above the couch.
