Character drawing of A Porcupine.
This drawing is both detailed and large for a character drawing. According to the artist, Eugene Yelchin, he and director Gore Verbinski spent a weekend at his house drawing characters and Western sets, which in turn led to the feel and the story of the film.
Rango won the Academy Award in 2011 for Best Animated Feature.
Yelchin is an award winning children's book illustrator and has been awarded both the Golden Kite Award as well as the prestigious John Newberry Medal.
The text to the left of the character reads "Saloon's Patron (Porcupine)".
The art measures 14" x 17".
There is evidence of some mild handling throughout the piece. There is a small tear in the upper right corner which could be easily matted out. There are a few slight graphite smudges throughout the piece. There is a small 1" inch crease along the right edge, which could be easily matted out.
Signed by Eugene Yelchin.
The size of the image is 12.75" h x 12" w.
