Keith Haring's Boys Club Mural

This piece shows one of Haring's dancing men. He frequently incorporated the street culture which surrounded him, such as breakdancing, which was made popular in the 1980's.
This wonderful artwork comes to us from the Keith Haring Foundation which was established to preserve the integrity of Haring's artwork and to continue his AIDS related and children's charity work. The cels from this segment aired on Sesame Street and were created a year after his death in 1991. Each cel is hand-inked by the animator, which is quite unusual for a 1991 production, and the Haring Foundation was very particular about the quality of line produced.
