Eyvind Earle
Meadow by the Sea
Oil on masonite of ---.

Mostly renowned for his backgrounds Earle created for Disney feature films like Sleeping Beauty and Lady and the Tramp, Earle had a career spanning nearly 70 years. He first exhibited his artwork in France when he was just 14 and went on to have his paintings and artwork collected and revered throughout the world. He has work in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection, and has had major shows and one-man exhibitions all over the world.
In 1996, Earle wrote: "For 70 years I've painted paintings, and I'm constantly and everlastingly overwhelmed at the stupendous infinity of creation...Art is the search for truth."
The majority of Earle’s original artworks focus on the landscape of California, predominantly the central coast. He has captured the light, the trees, and the rolling hills expertly, from the coolness of the Pacific coastline, to the bright hillsides just inland. As the central California coastline itself, there is the almost stark contrast between the majestic rock cliffs over looking the ocean and the softly lit hillsides of tranquility.
The artwork measures 8" x 20".
