Horton Hears a Who (1970) Production cel with matching drawing of Dr. Hoovey. Who will believe Dr. Hoovey? Apparently no the rest of the Whos. The good doctor, much like Dr. Suess himself, only looked to get people to believe. This production cel, layered over its matching drawing, is the perfect way to see the animation process come to life. Hoovey slumps back in front of his machine a little beaten but certainly not defeated. Together Hoovey and Horton would find a way to make a miracle happen. Original background layout drawing by Maurice Noble of Dr. Whovy in his workshop in Whoville, accompanied by the matching production cel overlaid a reproduced copy of the layout drawing. This character looks quite a bit like Chuck Jones with the hair and the glasses. Chuck Jones himself voiced the character of Dr. Hoovey as well as Horton and this set of drawings and cel is a fantastic set-up!
